The exterior framing of the masjid is finished, alhamdulillah. The windows have been ordered, and the interior frame is still ongoing. Installation of the sprinkler system should be done by the end of the month insha’allah.

Contractor Update

The contractor has met with the surveyor to do the final foundation stakeout to begin excavation, and temporary utilities have been applied for to finish construction. The contractor should mobilize the equipment within a week.

Alhamdulillah the ground breaking event on Saturday was a huge success—with $115,000 raised! The contractor is now mobilized, and the site survey has been staked out. Thank you to everyone who came out and who was involved. May Allah swt reward you all for your efforts, ameen!

Construction Update

The township has officially issued the building permit, and we will be going with GHS Construction as the general contractor. We are looking to schedule a ground breaking date inshallah.
Construction Permit Update
By the will of Allah (swt), the township has agreed to issue construction permit to Khair Center contingent on selection of a contractor and completion of a 3rd party electrical review. The Khair team had a pre-bid meeting with several contractors on Nov 6th. Construction bids from those contractors are due for submission on Nov 14. A review of submitted bids will be undertaken by the Khair team and it is expected that the contractor will be finalized by the end of November based on the best overall bid.
Construction and Fundraising Update - Sep 17, 2020
Assalamu alaikum,
As of Sep 17, 2020, the community has generously donated $170,000 towards the construction fund for Khair Center. Additionally, Khair team applied for, and received a grant of $90,000 to be used towards construction costs. The grant money is available to us immediately and as soon as we have ground breaking on the Khair site, we can start the construction process inshaAllah.
The project permit was submitted to Upper Providence Township on Sep 9, 2020. The township can take up to 30 days to review the permit. Insha’Allah, we are hopeful it will get approved and we can break ground soon after to commence construction on our site. Please continue making dua for success of this project and continue donating generously so we can complete phase 1 of this multi-year project plan completed on time.

Phase 1 Final Floor Plan
In mid March, Khair Center construction committee had a coordination meeting with the Site Engineer, MEP Engineer and Architect, to finish the building permit. Alhamdulillah, the floor plan for Phase 1 construction is now final. To view this floor plan, please click here.
